The way you eat takes a toll on your performance and overall health and well-being.
One can have all the sacred knowledge in the world, but if you don’t have your health, what good is all that knowledge? You can’t really enjoy life or pursue the things you love or be around for long for those who love you, if you do not take care of yourself.
Health is indeed wealth and us here at A.W.A.R.E are strong believers in also preaching the health message, also.
Let’s take Patrick Devine for example. Devine, the legend, was very knowledgeable in areas of law but was not knowledgeable in health and wellness. Health was not optimum. Patrick in fact, had an apple tree in front of his house, which helped him reach the “an apple a day, keeps the doctor away” goal. Unfortunately, Patrick ascended to a different dimension when he was only 56 due to being stricken with leukemia. Had Patrick Devine taken good care of himself in terms of his health, chances are, he would be here up to this day… but he’s with us all in spirit, in ‘devine’.
When you eat clean and healthy, you have more mental clarity. An excellent diet choice for mental clarity is veganism, a lifestyle composed of no meat, dairy and leather.
Veganism, according to the Cambridge Dictionary, is the practice of not consuming or using any animal products, which means not just food but is a lifestyle choice rather than a diet.
According to the Vegan Society, Leslie J Cross – vice-president of the British Vegan Society and co-founder of Plamil foods, said in 1949 that it is the principle of the emancipation of animals from exploitation by man and later clarified as “to seek an end to the use of animals by man for food, commodities, work, hunting, vivisection, and by all other uses involving exploitation of animal life by man.”
A vegan diet is a plant-based diet comprises all kinds of fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, seeds, beans and pulses and combinations of such.
Here’s to a healthy vegan diet:
- 5 portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables every day
- potatoes, bread, rice, pasta or other starchy carbohydrates (choose wholegrain where possible) as base meals
- dairy alternatives are soya drinks and yogurts (choose lower fat and lower sugar options)
- beans, pulses and other proteins
- unsaturated oils and spreads eaten in small amounts
- plenty of water or fluids
There is more to living a healthy lifestyle than to just eating right. Good thoughts, clean air and water, and optimum sleep are essentials to living a healthy lifestyle.
Our message for you today is, do not fall victim to knowing and seeking truth and freedom, but neglecting your health. As the great and wonderful, Jim Rohn would say, “take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.”
In excellent health to you and your family,
Team A.W.A.R.E
